1st Year Ladies Football

Week: 1st MayThe first year ladies football team competed in a county ladies football blitz on Friday 27th of April. We reached the final of the C grade competition and were narrowly beaten by Blarney in the final by a goal. The girls played outstanding on the day and represented their school very well.

Week: 19th  March

Congratulations to the Pobalscoil Under 15 Hurling team who draw against Kilmacthomas in the Muster semi final. The replay will be played next Wednesday.

We wish the team every success in the semi final. Well done.

The team were two points down at half-time.  Darragh O’Connell scored two goals in the second half.  John Paul Lucey was brought on as a substitute in the second half and made a good contribution.  Darragh O’Brien played a central role at centre back where he commanded the area and made many a good delivery to the forwards.

Under 14 boys football team 2011/2012.
Pobalscoil played Rosscarberry at home. The first half Pobalscoil played some excellent football. We were winning at half time but the wind picked up and we were beaten in the second half. Well done to all involved.

Senior football Result. Pobalscoil played a very hard game against a team from Tipperary. They played very well and got some great scores.

Pobalscoil put up a good battle in the second half against a strong wind but lost the game.

Pobalscoil senior ladies football played st ALS carrigtwohill at home on wed 23rd nov. With a strong wind in the first half pobalscoil lead by a point at half time.

A very tough second half saw pobalscoil go down 6 points and then come back to level the game.

Unfortunately we lost a tough challenging game by a point and were knocked out of the competition.

Week 14th Nov

Under 14 Football 2011 - 2012

A win for Under 14 boy’s football team. Match result (Nov 18, 2011) Mallow: 7-5 (26) Pobalscoil: 8-4 (28). Great team effort against a strong Mallow team.

Weather was very bad but against a strong wind Pobalscoil got a goal in the last kick of the game to win the game.

Senior girls basketball 2011/12. Congratulations to the Senior Girls Basketball Team who won their match against Scoil Mhuire this week.

Junior Girls Football
The Junior  Girls football team travelled to Carrigtwohill on Fri 28th to take on the very strong St Aloysius, we were defeated  5:16 to 6:4  on a fine Friday evening. Pobailscoil put up a great fight against the wind , all players showed heart and determination and never gave up . The back line was under grest pressure but kept us in the game after a encouraging half time speech the pobailscoil girls came out fighting but unfortunately St Aloysius had the better of us . It was a great game and we would like to thank the trainers  Ms. Conway, Ms. Matthews and Ms Tobin.

1st yr Soccer Blitz:

1a3 are the 1st year 5 a side soccer blitz champions. The blitz took place after school on thursday 27th Oct and each class tutor fielded a team.
Thanks to Ollie Dempsey for his support in the organisation of the blitz.
