Pobalscoil Students to Travel to Kolkata – Easter 2018

Pobalscoil Students to Travel to Kolkata – Easter 2018
Congratulations to Adam Danaher, Chloe Walsh, Dara Motherway, Jordan Lupton, Mary Sarkunaite and Sophie Lawlor who have been selected to travel to Kolkata next March with The Hope Foundation as part of the Immersion Programme along with their teachers.
The Hope Foundation is a registered Irish Charity working to save the street and slum children of Kolkata from lives of pain, abuse, poverty and darkness. The Immersion Programme gives students from TY an opportunity to learn about the reality of extreme poverty from young people of their own age. Over the next year, they will be raising funds for Hope’s projects and for their trip as well as raising awareness of the plight of street and slum children.
Congratulations also to Ailbhe Griffin, Darragh Geary, Dean Mac an t-Sabhasaigh and Marcia Ní Mhóinséil who have been appointed as Senior Mentors for our TY Hope students. This group travelled to Kolkata with Hope this year and their experience, insight and support will be invaluable to us over the next year.
We wish the group all the best on their journey.
