Brief Subject Content
Two Year programme designed to enhance the vocational dimension of the
traditional Leaving Certificate. LCVP combines the academic strengths of the
Leaving Certificate with a focus on self-directed, student-centred learning
Students compile a Portfolio of their ongoing work throughout the two year
programme. This Portfolio includes reports (based on speakers invited to visit the
school and on a visit out to a local business/industry), Action Plan (developing
students’ planning/organisational/ entrepreneurial skills), Career Investigation

will subsequently be developed and enhanced through participation in the
programme.
