Geography
The Leaving Certificate course is a direct continuation of Junior Certificate i.e.
Physical, Social, Regional and Economic Geography. The topics are dealt with in
much greater detail. Students who are prepared to work can achieve a very good
grade in this subject. Geography is a very valuable asset for students considering
third level courses in Teaching, Town Planning, Engineering, Science, Horticulture,
Tourism, Politics and Communications.

Assessment
Pre submitted Geographical Investigation.
A terminal exam.
Students are expected to answer 5 questions in the Leaving Certificate exam which
lasts two hours and fifty minutes. The paper is fair and offers a wide range of
choice.

Key Times of Year
April of 6th Year: Geographical Investigation report is handed up (20% of Leaving
Certificate exam).
