The benefits of studying a language are varied, apart from university requirements. Studying a language raises cultural awareness and the development of language skills. French is very helpful for students preparing for medical and legal professions.
Fluency in a language also makes travel infinitely
more enjoyable. We are fortunate in Pobalscoil na Tríonóide to have our French
department headed by a native French speaker. We are part of the French
Assistants’ programme whereby a native French speaker may be appointed to
assist in language classes in our school.
Assessment
12 minute oral exam in March / April
of Leaving Cert year.
Terminal exam consisting of a Listening
comprehension (35mins),
Reading. Comprehension,
and Written Expression.
