Agricultural Science
It covers the study of soils, plants and their functions including farm crops, animals
and trees.
It is preferable that students should have studied Science at Junior Cert level.
The course contains large segments of Biology

Assessment
A terminal exam: 75% of marks
Coursework: 25% of marks which includes a project based on an actual
farm experience.
An oral exam forms part of the assessment procedure.

Careers with Agricultural Science
Laboratory Technician, Farm Manager, Pharmacologist, Sales Representative,
Veterinary Assistant and Agricultural Advisor. Agricultural Science graduates may
work in the Dairy Industry, with Feed Manufacturers,
Pharmaceutical/Biotechnological firms and in Environmental Companies
