Last Wednesday Padraig Dalton, Assistant Director General Social and Demographic Statistics from the Central Statistics office, gave a macro presention to the 6th economics students on the state of Ireland on a facts and figures basis. It was the up to date GDP/GNP and Balance of payment figures.
He outlined the importance of the foreign direct investment to the Irish economy.
He gave a concise summary of the latest figures and information from Census 2011.
It was based on a presentation given to our policy makers in the houses of the Oireachtas in February.
We were grateful for his time and excellent presentation which held the attention of the 6th year economics class for the double class. All concurred it to being an excellent delivery of economic material appropriate to June exams.
